Element of the Retreat

Mauna (Silence):

Silence commences after the evening meditation and extends until after lunch the following day. This silence creates a space for students to focus on their inner journey, allowing all meals to be taken in silence.

Meditation:

The retreat offers a diverse array of meditation techniques and styles, enabling students to discover practices that resonate with their unique energy and lifestyle. A collective “Om” chant leads to a serene, silent meditation, embracing the vibrations.

Guided Nature Walks:

These walks are conducted in silence, offering students an opportunity to practice breath and body awareness. They become attuned to the natural surroundings, engaging with the sounds, scents, and tactile sensations.

Day 2: River Walk
Day 3: Bhitarli Village Walk
Day 4: Kimadi Village Walk
Day 5: Walk to Bisht Village
Day 6: Tapkeshwar Temple Tour
(*Note: Weather conditions may lead to alterations in scheduled walks.)

Hatha Yoga:

Hatha Yoga asanas prepare both body and mind for meditation, with a focus on synchronized breath and movement. These poses also serve to heal the body in various ways.

Ashtanga Yoga:

This active practice emphasizes continuous movement in harmony with the breath’s rhythm. A modified, less vigorous approach may be adopted, considering individual needs.

Yogic Cleansing:

Jala Neti (nasal cleansing with warm salt water) provides relief from allergies, colds, and sinusitis, while maintaining ear, eye, and throat health.

Pranayama (Breathing Exercises):

Pranayama practices invigorate the body and balance prana, the life force energy, promoting a more creative use of energy for healing and inner peace.

Lecture and Discussion:

Introduction to fundamental Yoga philosophy, yogic techniques, and practices, fostering group discussions, questions, and answers.

Laughter Yoga:

Designed to alleviate stress and release pent-up emotions, Laughter Yoga aims to bring good health, joy, and a sense of world peace.

Grounding Dance:

Following Laughter Yoga, the Grounding Dance helps stabilize participants. It provides a creative outlet for sharing diverse cultures through song, dance, and laughter, promoting a sense of joy and unity.

Mantra Chanting:

Mantras, specific sound combinations, activate distinct energies within the body. While chanting Sanskrit mantras, the emphasis lies in the sound itself, transcending literal meaning.

Rituals & Ceremonies:

Throughout the retreat, participants engage in evening rituals accompanied by Kirtan (devotional chanting).
Day 4: Ritual Bathing in river, offering a personal meditation experience on the riverbanks.
Day 6: Bonfire Celebration, a joyful occasion for sharing diverse cultures through song, dance, and laughter.
Day 7: Havan Fire Ceremony, a sacred Hindu purification ritual involving a fire ceremony, with offerings to the fire god, Agni, as a form of ritual sacrifice.
